Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe was mindblowing. That's simply all I can say. I was so blessed to be given the opportunity to go. I can still remember the very day God planted a seed in my heart for Zimbabwe. I went to The Mississippi Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Our special guests that night were the choir from Africa University. After they sang, I knew I wanted to learn more about Zimbabwe. The more I learned the more my heart grew for Zimbabwe. After many years, I finally got to go to Zimbabwe. I spent the time showing God's love to orphans at the Fairfield Children's Home. When I wasn't doing that, I spent some time helping replace the pipes that were there. After we replaced the pipes, the man in charge of the Homes spoke to us. He said he didn't know much about Mississippi but learned in geography it was a river. He began to tell us that it's almost like we brought a piece of the river with us because the houses now had hot water. I've never felt something more gratifying in my life. I also got the opportunity to climb to the top of a mountain and watching the sunrise with my friend Shane on the trip. At the top of the mountain is a Cross and Flame that my annual conference (Mississippi) donated to the university. It's so beautiful listening to the sounds of the animals and water as people are still asleep while the sun rises. It was an amazing experience and I can't wait to return.
